'Muslim class being dragged unnecessarily under the pretext of coronavirus', SC judge former Markandey Katju counted incidents targeting the media
New Delhi, While on the one hand the whole country is fighting an epidemic like coronavirus, on the other hand some people are dissolving the poison of communalism in this environment.Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has written an article in which he is blaming a section of the media. In which he is saying that in this critical time a section of media is blaming the tabligi group responsible for the infection of the virus and proving Muslims as terrorists and anti-nationals. As a result of which shameful news like discrimination and attacks on Muslims came out across the country.
According to Katju, there are issues of concern
1. Many media channels have presented Maulana Saad, the head of Tabligi Jamaat, as a devil.A FIR has been registered against him under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and his house has also been raided.
2. A section of social media and TV channels have accused him of deliberately spreading coronavirus in India.
3. The government hospital in Bharatpur refused to admit a pregnant woman as the woman was Muslim and as a result the woman's child died. In the official investigation, the fact was recorded that the doctors suspected that she was from Tabligi Jamaat.
4.In Punjab too, Muslims are facing trouble, Muslim Gujjars are having trouble selling milk there and communalism in Karnataka is emphasizing the boycott of Muslims.
5. The mainstream media says that the members of the Tablighi Jamaat are super "spreaders" and some have demanded that they be shot, accusing them of spitting on doctors and defecating in hospital wards.
According to Katju, people ask why Maulana Saad does not surrender? No one can find out the reason behind this. He is probably scared that if he surrenders, the police can use third degree on him.
